Finder chart sources and credits

The Back Bay Amateur Astronomers finder charts combine astronomical data from independently licensed sources. The charts are adapted visualizations, not original star-position measurements.

Star positions

Star records are derived from the HYG Database v4.1, maintained by the HYG Database project (David Nash). Records were filtered, transformed, and converted to a chart-ready JSON dataset. Source: HYG Database. License: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0.

Constellation lines

Constellation-line chains are adapted from the Stellarium Western sky culture by the Stellarium team. The HIP-numbered chains were extracted and transformed into chart-ready JSON; constellation illustrations were not copied. Source: Stellarium Western sky culture. The source's description identifies text and data as CC BY-SA and illustrations as Free Art License. The precise source revision and CC BY-SA version for the bundled line data have not been established. Creative Commons BY-SA license information.

The exact upstream revision for the bundled derived data has not been established; source fingerprints and transformation details are retained in the project source manifest. Attribution does not imply endorsement by the source projects.
